Electronic Prototyping
This week we began our 2D Algorithmic Art module, we started by learning the basics of p5.js.
We had a very inspiring guest lecture from Licia He who programs plotters with p5.js to create physical art.

Electronic Prototyping
This week we expanded our learning on p5.js with us learning Grid.
Rich Hall and Rachel Drury shared with us their work at Collusion, a pioneering art and technology organization.
We then had great fun with the brand new robotic dog, which got us all excited for more robotics.

This week we focused entirely on our banking hall project, i had such an amazing time, and really enjoyed working with others to make our project to share with everyone in such an amazing space. I felt like it really cemented my understanding of programming and allowed me to flex both my creative and coding muscles.

We started this week with Preparing our group presentations about our experience with the Banking Hall project, which we then presented on Thursday.
We then wrapped up the week and the module with a final p5.js session.

This week we started our XR Programming module with an introduction to Unity, which will serve as the foundation for our XR project.
We then learned how to do 3D scanning workshop, with us managing to upload scans of real objects into digital form.
We then continued to work on our VR rooms in the Creative tech lab on Thursday.

This week we did more work on our VR rooms.
We also had our first session on learning blender, as someone who has always enjoyed using blender to make things, this was a session i really enjoyed.

This week was much like the last with our second blender tutorial and further work on our VR rooms. However we also had a guest lecture from James Lee Burgess about his company “Urban Tech Creative”.

In addition we had a lecture from Jon Carey (head of development at Mission Made) about their work delivering high end websites.

This week consisted of our Mid unit reviews and a lecture from Lee Mason, a truly inspiring artist, making amazing use of the blockchain with his art which is shown around the world, he also talked about being a digital nomad and roaming around the world which is something ive always been interested in.

We continued to work on our predictor models and our final scripts, including hooking them up to our webcams.
We also began work on our Industry Folder with a trip to Laboratory Media’s studio.
We also had 2 lectures one from Jamie and one from Diana on “UN Sustainable Development Goals and Creative practice” and “Tech for good” respectively.

Research Essay
This week started with our Group Tutorials. We then continued towards a Lecture from Max Elkins from the Raspberry Pi Foundation.
We finished the week with our first Arduino workshop from Hannah, which would be very helpful with us going into our Creative Tech project.

Banking Hall Take Over
We started our Creative Technology module with an all day Arduino Workshop, where we learned a lot to help us set up our projects for the rest of the module.
We then had 2 lectures one from Dr Dean Bowman and one from Dr Tarnia Mears on “A Brief Critical History of Computing: New Counterculture, New Media, New Economy” and “Oppressive Algorithms” respectively.

We once again had group tutorials to start the week and then continued to expand our knowledge of arduinos with learning about sensors
We then had a workshop from Frazer Merrick where we where taught how to create a MiDi controller with Arduinos.
